DJ BLAZE
As his name suggests, DJ
BLAZE brings that fire when it comes to radio station
imaging, mixing, and music production. His innovative production style is heavily influenced by his extensive
DJ abilities and knowledge of hip-hop culture. Currently, DJ BLAZE is the Creative
Services Director at WUSL Power 99 and WDAS FM in Philadelphia, where he quickly
set trends and raised the standard of urban imaging. BLAZE
received his start in radio as a mixer and on-air personality at 90.7 WUVT, while attending Virginia
Tech. Upon graduation in 1998, he began his commercial radio career at WPGC 95.5
and Heaven 1580 AM in Washington, D.C. As Creative Services Director,
he was responsible for imaging some of the hottest shows and biggest names in the industry including Donnie Simpson,
Star and Bucwild, Wendy Williams, Big Tigger, Adimu, and the Funk
Regulator Celo. His imaging has also launched several stations, such as Hot 93.7
in Hartford, Connecticut, WWDM the Big DM in South Carolina, X
105.7 in Baltimore, and X 102.3 in West Palm Beach.
DJ BLAZE has received many accolades for his production work including Radio Mercury
Awards, A.I.R. Awards, and RAP Magazine Awards, to name a few. However,
Blaze’s radio skills are not limited to the production studio. He is also an experienced
copy writer, writing effective and entertaining content for imaging and commercials. He has been called
on to wear many hats including engineer, on-air personality, on-air mixer, as well as teacher and manager. Blaze
has routinely trained staff on the technical aspects of radio, proper studio use, and on-air procedures.
Outside of radio, DJ BLAZE is a Shadyville DJ (G-Unit’s DJ Crew), toured with Flipmode Squad’s
Rampage, Bootcamp Click’s Louieville Sluggah from OGC, has DJ-ed for Rah Digga, KRS-One, Cassidy, Wayne Wonder and many
more artists. In the reggae world, DJ BLAZE is the owner and selector for one of the top reggae sounds, the 4-5-6
Sound in Washington, D.C. At The end of 2007 DJ BLAZE moved to Jamaica to DJ in the
heart of the Jamaican dancehalls, roadside dances, and clubs alongside some of the biggest and most recognized sounds in the
world. He is also the DJ for The Difference, a live hip-hop band in Philadelphia. DJ BLAZE currently travels all over the world to DJ including Jamaica, The Philippines, Mexico, Canada, and all over the US
becoming a true international DJ. He continues to expand as a producer, making hot reggae, R & B, and hip-hop tracks,
as well as engineering recording sessions up and down the East Coast. DJ BLAZE is aggressive, creative, and ready to help win the urban radio battle in your market. His imaging
